"[Commissioner Bill] Lee said the [Frontier] League, which now has 12 teams across the Midwest, wants to add four more by 2005. It began with eight teams in 1993."

Rick Prieto won a Player of the Year award and was a perennial All-Star during the seven year history of the independent Western Baseball League.

Changes In KU Baseball Schedule Versus Oklahoma State

"University of Kansas baseball coach Ritch Price announced today, March 27, that changes have been made to the upcoming Big 12 baseball series between the Jayhawks and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Due to the possibility of unfavorable weather conditions on Friday, March 28, the originally slated game has been moved to Monday, March 31 at 3 p.m. The games scheduled for Saturday, March 29 (2 p.m.) and Sunday, March 30 (1 p.m.) will be played at their orginally scheduled times. Kansas City T-Bones and "Dirty" Al Gallagher night on Friday has been postponed due to T-Bones' officials being unable to attend."


Baseball Team To Host T - Bones Night At Hoglund Ballpark

"The University of Kansas baseball team will welcome "Dirty" Al Gallagher and the Kansas City T-Bones baseball club to T-Bones Night at Hoglund Ballpark on March 28 when the Jayhawks host Oklahoma State. Gallagher, the T-Bones manager and its Director of Baseball Operations, will attend KU's game against the Cowboys to throw out the cermonial first pitch and promote the newest baseball team in the Kansas City area. Before the game, Gallagher will sign autographs near the entrance of the stadium and hand out promotional T-Bones materials. The first 500 fans to the ballpark will receive a Kansas Jayhawks pennant courtesy of KU athletics."
