Just got back from the CommunityAmerica Credit Union in Olathe where single game tickets are now on sale until 2 PM. If you want tickets for opening night, get out there now! When I left they just had single tickets and lawn seats available. There appears to be plenty of seats left for all other games as I was able to get 4 seats right behind home plate, 11th row for both the second game and the 4th of July. If you head out now, don't worry about waiting in line. There were only about 50 people in line when tickets went on sale at about 8:30, and about 10 still in line when I left. There was also at least a dozen boxes of Krispy Kremes still there when I left, so go get yourself a free donut even if you don't need tickets.
Other things gleaned while waiting in line munching on Krispy Kremes: The T-Bones have currently sold about 1500 season tickets. Wyandotte County residents, who got first crack at single game tickets, bought about 800 tickets yesterday. If you want to sit in the shade, stick to the 3rd base side of the ballpark. The netting protecting the fans from the playing field will stretch between the two dugouts, covering sections 100-104. Tickets for the picnic table section down the right field line are not being sold at CommunityAmerica, call the T-Bones office for more details.

"The T-Bones, Kansas City's new independent-league baseball team, have hired Tanna Guthrie from KYYS (99.7 FM) as their public-address announcer this summer. Guthrie, who lists North Carolina and Oklahoma City among her other stops in the radio biz, said, 'As much as I like North Carolina and OK City, I will retire a T-Bone.' "

The T-Bones have hired 99.7 KY DJ Tanna Guthrie as the team's PA Announcer. There is one erroneous headline in this week's newsletter: T-Bones Announce New Season's Promotional Calendar! Unable to find it anywhere on their site, I placed a call to the T-Bones office this morning and was informed that the promotional schedule won't actually be released for a couple of weeks yet.
