T-Bones hold off Canaries on a wild and crazy night
Kansas City Star - Aug 15, 2003
"Thursday turned out to be one weird evening at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Elvises (or would it be Elvi?) roamed the joint. A couple calling themselves Queen Eleanor and Prince Eric, dressed in Renaissance clothing, sang the national anthem. A sudden downpour caused a 29-minute delay. And the T-Bones beat the Sioux Falls Canaries by a foot or two."

T-Bones Claim Tie For First Place With 5-4 Win
T-Bones Press Release - Aug 14, 2003
"Eddie stepped to the plate in the bottom of the third inning and belted a Richie Burgess (2-6) pitch over the right field wall for his thirteenth home run of the season. The home run, his third in four games, now ties him with Tim Flaherty and Harry Berrios for the league lead. His three RBIs in the game tie him with Wes Chamberlain for the league lead in that category. Those stats, coupled with his league lead in hitting give Eddie a solid chance at the triple crown."

"The win gives Kansas City an impressive 7-3 on their ten game homestand. They have now won their last seven home series. With Fargo’s loss to Joliet earlier in the day, the T-Bones sit tied atop the Western Division standings with a 17-12 record."

Canaries Fall In Finale At Kansas City
Canaries Press Release - Aug 14, 2003
"The Canaries made things interesting in the late innings, but RHP D.J. Johnson managed to stifle the Birds’ ninth-inning rally and pick up his 16th save, sending Sioux Falls to a 5-4 defeat at the hands of the Kansas City T-Bones.

After striking out SS Ron Bush, Johnson walked 1B Ali Modami and PH Rich Rodrigues, bringing 2B Curt Lee to the plate with the go-ahead run on first. Lee flew out to the wall in left, just missing extra bases, which brought CF Tyrone Pendergrass to the plate, who was back in his usual spot atop the order. Pendergrass launched a fly ball to deep left, but saw it leave the ballpark foul by mere feet and grounded back to the pitcher to end the Canaries’ threat and the game."

Canaries end road trip with loss
Sioux Falls Argus Leader - Aug 15, 2003
"Eddie Pearson hit his 13th homer of the year for Kansas City, and reliever D.J. Johnson preserved the T-Bones' 5-4 victory over the Sioux Falls Canaries on Thursday."

All shook up: T-Bones host ‘Elvis Night'
Bonner Springs Chieftain - Aug 14, 2003

Village West Offers Everything From NASCAR to Outdoor Adventures
ABC News - Aug 14, 2003
"Single-game tickets at the 4,500-seat park are available for all home dates — a conscious decision by the team, general manager Adam Ehlert said. 'We held about a third of the tickets for walk-up traffic,' Ehlert said. 'We wanted to make sure that people who just wanted to come out for a night at the ballpark could do that.' "

Sigley Goes the Distance In Kansas City's 9-1 Rout
T-Bones Press Release - Aug 13, 2003
"Jayson Sigley earned his fourth win of the season by pitching a complete game in Kansas City’s 9-1 victory over Sioux Falls Wednesday night. Sigley scattered nine hits and struck out five in his first complete game effort of the season.

The Kansas City bats, seemingly dormant only a night ago, exploded for sixteen hits against Canaries’ pitching. Eddie Pearson and Rodney Clifton led the way with three hits and two RBIs each. Eight of the nine batters in the Kansas City lineup had multi-hit games and all nine batters reached base at some point. The T-Bones fell just three hits shy of their season record of nineteen hits, which they accomplished July 18 at Sioux Falls."
